Starting a Reference File and Checking on its Contents

* When your first reference is received in the CDC, an actual file will be automatically opened for you.

* You may find out what is in your file (reference letters/Emergency Authorization for Employers' Reference Request Form) by:

  • Logging onto ORCA on the CDC website and clicking on "Checking References". This will tell you the names on any references added to your file since 6/14/01.
  • Calling or coming in to the CDC any time during regular office hours.

* Identification must be shown in order to view your non-confidential references. Confidential references cannot be viewed.

* Be sure to notify the CDC of any name and/or address changes.
